Orijen has a better protein to fat ratio. Smalls's ratio of 2.25 to 1 is too high (not fatty enough). (The ideal ratio is 2 to 1.) Smalls has much fewer ingredients, which is usually a good thing. Both foods are 100% free of fruits, veggies, grains, and starches.
