Orijen has a better protein to fat ratio. Dr. Elsey's's ratio of 3.22 to 1 is too high (not fatty enough). (The ideal ratio is 2 to 1.) Dr. Elsey's has much fewer ingredients, which is usually a good thing. Both foods are mostly free of fruits, veggies, grains, and starches.
